Da Pacem
Together with the soprano Raphaële Kennedy he founded Da Pacem, which specializes in the baroque repertoire, but is also open to performing Renaissance and contemporary music. The ensemble, based on a rich, united continuo group to sustain the voice, seeks to bring out baroque composers’ use of rhetorical devices. P.A.Charpy and R.Kennedy are the joint musical directors of Da Pacem.

Organ
Having studied the organ with Annick Chevalier and André Isoir, Pierre-Adrien Charpy performs regularly as a soloist. He is particularly fond of the 17th century repertoire, and owns an Italian organ made by Quentin Blumenroeder.

Teaching
Since 1996 Pierre-Adrien Charpy has been teaching harmony and counterpoint and composition at different conservatoires in France - in Melun, Amiens, and now Marseille. His teaching is creative: how to compose like the old masters, in such a way that the music is still alive in the present day. The respect for a certain technical and aesthetic framework is thus comparable to the rules of a board game: they are only valid in a defined context and have no absolute character. He accompanies this work of historical presentation and analysis of musical works.
